DESCRIPTION:Telecom Infra Project (TIP) returned to Barcelona as the mobile community gathered for Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019. We highlighted our progress toward faster\, more affordable\, and more resilient networks\, and — in a significant step showcasing the range and maturity of our technologies — we unveiled our first end-to-end network demonstration. \nWe also hosted a series of face-to-face Project Group gatherings\, including the launch of two new groups — OpenRAN 5G NR & WiFi. Finally\, TIP supported technologies featured across TIP member booths\, and TIP Ecosystem Acceleration Center (TEAC) companies exhibited at the startup-focused 4YFN conference.

DESCRIPTION:At Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018\, the Telecom Infra Project (TIP) showcased our progress across numerous project groups working to design\, build\, trial\, and deploy new technologies that will help operators build faster\, more affordable\, and more resilient networks. \nWe shared updates illustrating the growing and expanding scope of the TIP community to address new challenges. First\, we announced the addition of three new project groups to TIP: Crowd Cell\, Power and Connectivity \, and Disaggregated Cell Site Gateways (a new Vodafone – and Facebook-led subgroup of the Open Optical & Packet Transport group. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe also announced a new TIP Community Lab near BT’s Adastral Park campus in the UK\, and at the new TIP Ecosystem Acceleration Center in Germany\, more than €100 million in venture capital funding has been soft-circled for infrastructure-focused startups. \nIn addition\, we welcomed some of TIP’s newest members: China Unicom\, Sprint\, and Telenor.
